Casa Isla Mía
I’m Titi Marilú, the cook, creator, and heart behind Casa Isla Mía. My love for cooking comes from the Puerto Rican kitchen I know and love—the kind of cooking where the food is seasoned with intention, recipes are passed down through generations, my abuelitas and mother, and with the most important ingredient of all: always love. Before becoming the owner of Tex-Chick Puerto Rican Eatery in Houston, I developed my own blends of Puerto Rican adobo and sazón, and those same seasonings became the foundation of the dishes I prepared at the restaurant. Today, after passing the keys of the eatery to new owners, I’m bringing seasonings back through Casa Isla Mía, along with one of my favorite Puerto Rican comfort foods: handmade empanadillas (empanadas/pastelillos/turnovers). As a Boricua born and raised, everything I make is about real Puerto Rican flavor without shortcuts. My adobos and sazón are carefully blended in small batches using thoughtfully selected spices and ingredients, with no artificial ingredients or unnecessary preservatives. My empanadillas are prepared by hand, filled generously with flavorful fillings, and made with the kind of care you would expect from a Puerto Rican home kitchen. What makes Casa Isla Mía different is that these aren't products created simply to represent Puerto Rican food—they come from my own kitchen, my own recipes, and years of cooking for family, friends, and customers. My goal is simple: whether you grew up eating Puerto Rican food or you're discovering it for the first time, I want every bite to feel like you've been invited into my home.
