OstroVolt grows living sunflower microgreens in Ossineke, Michigan — thick stems, nutty crunch, snipped fresh instead of shipped wilted. This kit is that exact method, packed so you can grow the tray yourself.
Sunflower is the sturdy one: rich, nutty, and satisfyingly crunchy. Twenty grams is the amount that fills a 5×7 with a full crop. Not a sample. A harvest.
What’s in the kit
- 5×7 vented clamshell. Vents so roots and stems can breathe while the greens stay covered and humid.
- 5×7 tray. The base the crop grows in.
- 5×5 bag of soil. A very sandy organic mix — light, fast-draining, and the medium these sunflower trays are grown on.
- Two 5×5 hemp mats. They hold water where the roots need it and keep the sandy mix from drying out between waterings.
- 20 grams of sunflower seeds. Enough for one fantastic 5×7 crop.
Tried on the same setup that produces the sunflower greens on OstroVolt.
Set the mats, spread the soil, sow the seed, and grow the tray you would otherwise pick up off U.S. 23. Snip what you want. Let the rest keep growing.
